PATTERNS & STENCILING
HISTORICAL USE
Fast reproduction of complex patterns has long kept stenciling a solution to decorative painters, as well as wood and stone carvers. Patterns, such as Damask fabrics, are much more cost effective recreated with a stencil, as real Damask is very expensive and difficult to care for, and have frequently been painted by faux finishers with stencils.
SUITABLE APPLICATIONS
When your design calls for a repeating pattern of a single motif, a template such as a stencil, is the quickest, most accurate way to an all over pattern. With the ability and option to cut by hand, or laser, we can customize the size, shape and pattern to best fit your decorating. Whether by paint or plaster, a subtle allover pattern can add richness and interest otherwise emulated only by contemporary wallpaper. Stencils can appear to be expensive and time consuming to produce, but the benefit of swift and accurate patterning, more then makes up the price; especially compared to hand drawing and painting each element individually.
Stencils can be well suited for:
- Allover wall patterns Such as Damask,
- On friezes or borders,
- Fore transferring repetitive patterns in tromp l’oeil,
- On wood,
- Furniture,
- Recreate period designs,
- Decorate walls, floors, and fabrics,
